sylvia njoki[su_dropcap style=”simple”]D[/su_dropcap]on’t we all love camp fires?  Sitting under a star-lit sky on a balmy night, watching the beautiful flames as the glowing ambers fly up and away while listening to the crickets is a perfect recipe for a relaxing evening chilling and sometimes enjoying a session of chatting and networking with those around you.  I have great memories of such nights with friends, including one enchanted reggae night high on a hill overlooking Kingston, Jamaica  – a story I shall save for another time…

But this coming Friday the 6th November I shall once more be with a group of wonderful people around a campfire at Cray Fish Camp in Naivasha.  I will be among the speakers at the inaugural Digital Camp Kenya, organized by BAKE, the Bloggers Association of Kenya. I am happy to have been invited to contribute to this groundbreaking event taking place in Naivasha from 6th to 8th November to foster a better understanding among all the digital stake holders including both online content creators, such as yours truly, and other professionals working in the digital space or utilizing its content for their work. The theme of this very first camp is “Harnessing the Digital Economy in Kenya” and BAKE is anticipating an attendance of over 200 people including 60 bloggers and social media influencers.

If this sounds like something you would like to be part of, it is still not too late to register by mail to njeri@bake.co.ke , and you will be able to enjoy a rich programme of master classes, presentations and fireside chats plus lots of socializing and networking, including a party on Sunday night.  I will be talking about ‘Fashion blogging in the digital age’ and I would be thrilled to see you around my campfire on Friday and I hope to meet many of you at this lovely venue at the shores of our beautiful Lake Naivasha.

The dress code in the camp will of course be extremely informal and laid back and a very far cry from the outfit you are watching me rocking on these photos. An outfit I wore to my friend Kendi’s wedding two weeks ago and when it was time for the after party, I slid into these gorgeous strappy lace ups that are currently my favorite pair of black heels.
