What an amazing weekend it was! Together with Sheila, one of my best friends, I went to Mombasa for the Chris Brown concert and had an amazing time.
But the highlight for me was the meet-up with some of the readers of my blog which I and Sheila (who is a natural hair blogger) decided to organize for our Mombasa followers at short notice less than a week ago, taking advantage of being there together.
The weather was just right and the view of the ocean from our table in the garden of Suli Suli restaurant in Cowrie Beach hotel was perfect. But best of all was the lovely mix of people who turned up to chill with us and each other. It was an amazing and wonderfully diverse crowd including a recent high school graduate, a law student, an accountant, a teacher and even a male jewelry designer and more… we all meshed so beautifully and had a very intimate girly afternoon together. We all shared our experiences and covered most of the stuff girlfriends talk about like careers, food, fashion, makeup and even boys. lol, It was so much fun! We had planned to wrap up the get-together around 5PM but had such a good time that we continued until 7PM.
For me it was a truly humbling experience to meet the people I write for on my blog in flesh, to get to meet my audience and end up knowing each of them better. I want to thank each and every one of you for giving me this experience, thank you for loving what I do, and to feel that genuine love in person yesterday was invaluable! and I can already now promise that this will be followed by other similar meet-ups in Nairobi and elsewhere.
