It’s Time for a Hair Change! Here is my Inspiration

People who knew me before I locked my hair will remember how I regularly changed my hair style to match the occasion – or simply for the fun of it.
Locs can be limiting and for the past couple of years the longer my hair got, the fewer the styling possibilities. You may remember when I installed braids, yarn locs, or when I tried temporary spray hair color here. My changing styles have however primarily been limited to loc up-dos with a variety of modest twists and since I love to experiment, I am considering dying my hair or even cutting it before the end of this month. I have been toying with this idea for close to six months now, so I can’t wait to finally get it done!

Here are are two potential hair colors and one hair cut which I am considering, I would love to hear your thoughts.

1.I have always loved this color on Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily. You would think that such a color would mean paring down your clothing palette, but she pulls off any color with ease.

2.I think this ombre color on Tar Marz  is absolutely perfect! darker shades should work well with my skin tone.

3.I found this picture on pinterest. So edgy! If you know who she is, let me know. This is by far the style I love the most, but also the most nervous about as it means cutting my hair!

Can’t wait to share what I go for !

  1. This is tough! But Girl, I love Claire Sulmers and i kinda feel the color would really suit you well.

  2. A combination of the ombre color and the mohawk style. number 2 and 3 Because YOLO!

  3. For a moment I thought you were cutting your hair. I ran from facebook to come stop you 🙂
Cant wait to see what you go for.

  4. Mohawk or ombre will work..I feel since I’ve had dreads for 8 years. Can’t wait to see what you’ll do.

  5. Hey Silvia. On the hair change that’s a big deal for sure, its one decision that can be hard.Myself i think the color change is better because it gives you an option of getting back to your normal self (that is the black dreads) and get to try out other different colors. The hair cut may be limiting because its a hair style you have to live with, may be style the dreads left but it might end up to be boring seeing the same hair cut everyday. Then with the hair cut if you want something different you have to cut all your remaining dreads and start from scratch.
You have always had dreads for many years that would not be an easy move to cut them down.
Have a good one, waiting to see what you go for

  6. If you ask me – go for the one that you love the most and makes you nervous.

  7. I’m sure you’ll look lovely in any of the styles, but you can try the ombré color first and see😍😍 can’t wait to see your new look 😍 Good luck my dear

  8. I think you would look absolutely great with the Fashion bomb daily chic look. But maintaining color is such a bitch. anyway. slay on !

  9. CUT IT! CUT IT! CUT IT! I always choose the most edgy look, the shape of your face is very forgiving and the side cut will probably look bomb. The problem with short hair is that you need to be at the barber’s every two weeks if not weekly so as to keep it looking fresh. Take the plunge, I envy you, it’s only my day job and the fact that I could potentially look like a boy that have kept me from shaving my sides off! but if I have learnt anything from Nancie Mwai its that hair is for playing with.

  10. The third one is edgy. Go with what you love most.

  11. I had locks for 4 years and cut them 2 months ago, and I haven’t regretted it. i now have a TWA, I look so much younger and fresh. Totally understand what you are going through.
