I was in Morocco 4 years ago and I can assure you that this is an adventure I am really looking forward to. I want to take you with me on a 10-day exploration where we shall immerse ourselves fully in a Moroccan adventure. Our journey starts in Rabat and moves on to Chefchaouhen, Fes, Merzouga, and Ouarzazate and ends in Marrakesh. Over a period of 10 days. Your senses will be invigorated by a culture rich in tradition and the fragrant air spiked with local spices. Dinner under the stars surrounded by the dunes of the Sahara, the bustling medinas and souks of Marrakesh and Fez – hidden treasures in the Moroccan culture, still steeped in rich tradition. All of this paired with carefully curated signature experiences by local specialists, for a mix of the charming, modern plus the tried and true. This journey will be a chance to Immerse yourself in the traditions, history, landmarks and lifestyles of the best in Morocco. Join me on this journey through the country’s imperial cities.
Rabat – Chefchaouen
Welcome to Rabat, the capital of Morocco and one of the country’s four imperial cities. The team will pick you up from the airport and head towards the blue city of Chefchaouen, and on the drive, we will see the Hassan Tower in Rabat. It will be a scenic drive through the city of Kenitra, overviewing Ouazzane and some Rifian villages. After completing check-in to your home away from home, a 4-star riad (a traditional courtyard hotel) near Chefchaouen medina, you will have some time to recover from your long flight before we gather for a welcome dinner.
Exploring Chefchaouen and Drive to Fes
This morning’s sightseeing begins with an excursion around the blue city, after breakfast, we will be accompanied by our local guide to discover one of the most beautiful destinations in Morocco, at the feet of the Rif. The Chefchaouen medina (city) had a Spanish-style square; soak yourself in the blue city and experience the magic of this bleu pearl before our drive to Fes city, and an overnight stay in one of its luxury Riads close to the Royal Palais.
Sightseeing in Fes
Fes is the largest living medieval Medina city and the cultural heart of Morocco. After breakfast in your riad, put on your most comfortable shoes as today we will embark on a walking tour. We will start exploring the largest old city (Medina) in the world, walking in its alleys and small streets. Get ready to Soak in the history and culture of this beautiful city. Our tour starts by visiting the Royal Palace, We will ensure that you see sites of cultural and historical importance. Including taking pictures of the multiple famous traditional mosaic walls around Fez, the souks, medina and tanneries. After a day of sightseeing we will enjoy some tea with a wonderful panoramic view over Fes.
Road trip from Fes to Merzouga
After breakfast at your riad in Fez, we’ll leave for Merzouga through the Mid-Atlas region passing through Frane, the “Switzerland” of Morocco. It’s a long drive but there will be a lot of stops including our lunch at Midlet. Our day comes to a close as we arrive in Merzouga in the Sahara. Our afternoon will be spent enjoying the sunset at our luxury camp, drink delicious local mint tea, enjoy our dinner, and delight in traditional Berber music underneath the star and moonlit sky of the wondrous Sahara Desert.
A day in the Sahara
Today you have the option to rest or rise early for a sunrise. After a leisurely breakfast in the desert, You’ll have the opportunity to see the nomad’s way of life We will visit the black village of Khamlia; where we’ll indulge in the music of the Gnawa. For lunch, we’ll delight in a traditional Berber pizza in a local restaurant. The afternoon will be spent enjoying time in the desert sand dunes, sandboarding perhaps? there is also the option of renting a quad bike for a fun afternoon of races and dune bashing! For sunset, we will ride on camelback to watch the sunset over the dunes and spend the night in the desert – dine and dance around the fire.
Merzouga to Ouarzazate
After an early start to catch the sunrise in the Merzouga desert, we will return on camelback just like the berbers did in the ancient past to the village, before getting back on the road. From there, we’ll leave to Tinghir, to reach the Todra Gorge, which is the highest, narrowest gorge in Morocco. For lunch, we will have tea and tajine with a Berber family. Our road trip will continue to Ouarzazate where we will check into our 4-star hotel. The rest of the evening is yours to relax and enjoy the hotels facilities.
Ouarzazate to Marrakesh
After breakfast, we’ll continue our private tour stopping first at the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. This UNESCO World Heritage site is where the famous Game of Thrones, Gladiator and The Mummy were filmed, Afterwards continuing through the Tizi-n-Tichka and then to Marrakesh. where we will check into our riad near the Djemaa el Fna square the main cultural attraction of Marrakesh.
For the remainder of the evening, you are welcome to settle into your riad and spend the rest of the night at leisure but for the buzzing evening atmosphere in Marrakesh, it doesn’t get livelier, more exotic or more mystic than Jemaa el Fna as the sun sets and darkness descends. The square fills with live music, henna artists, fortune tellers, snake charmers, storytellers etc, you are welcome to embark on an evening guided walk of this famous square.
Marrakesh guided tour and cooking class
Today we’ll have a guided tour of Marrakesh’s cultural highlights. Make sure to have your camera ready so you don’t miss a thing! You will explore the colourful souks of the medina and shop in the markets and then visit the Yves Saint Laurent Museum and the Majorelle Gardens. This museum is a cultural space that continues showcase the uniqueness of Yves’s creative legacy.
Later in the day, we will head over to the market to buy fresh ingredients before taking a Moroccan cooking class with a local family.
Free day in Marrakesh
This will be a day to rest and explore Marrakech at leisure, perhaps a Moroccan hammam bath and massage, a walk in the old medina, shopping, or simply revisit a spot that you enjoyed. There are also amazing video and photo opportunities in Marrakesh. In the evening we will converge at a lovely restaurant for a farewell dinner.
It’s not goodbye but see you on another discovery; airport transfers will be provided according to your flight schedule.

There are two options to pay for the trip. you can make a full payment immediately upon booking or pay a $350 deposit and the rest in instalments that you are comfortable in running up to 40 days to the trip departure. Deposit is non-refundable if cancellations are made after 40 days to the departure date. Payments can be done via direct bank or mobile transfers – transfer details will be sent upon booking.
I am to keep the trips small and intimate so we can all get to create long-lasting friendships. 8 to 15 people max depending on the destination.
Yes men are welcome to join unless it is stated as an all girls trip.
Anyone across the world is welcome to join, we will coordinate flights so we all arrive on the same day and start the adventure together.
Depending on the passport you hold, not all destinations require you to have a visa. However, where necessary to acquire one, we would guide you with the necessary advice and direct you to the proper resources to make sure you are making the correct application, however all visas will be applied individually by the applicant and the decision solely lies on the relevant consulate.
Local flights and transportation in the itinerary during the trip are included in the fee. But since we have friends joining from all over the world, we are not able to include international flights in the budget to the discovery destination. We can however advise you on the best and affordable flight options.
The itinerary advertised is made in advance in collaboration with locals or with experience from my previous trips. We will do our best to stick to the schedule, however some aspects may change due to various aspects out of our control like the weather or flight cancellations etc. We will act accordingly and find alternative plans during such eventualities.
Rooms will be assigned on double occupancy. All rooms have two single beds with an en suite bathroom. If you wish to have a room on your own, a fee is applicable. Please let us know when making the booking.
My trips are all about creating a community of long lasting friendships. 6 weeks before the trip, we will create a whatsApp, Telegram or Facebook group where we can mingle and get to know each other and even find a roommate!
Yes, unless stated otherwise. I am however available to plan similar experiences and discoveries for friends, families or groups if not able to join us on the dates stated.
We will only offer a full refund due to any COVID-19 related complications e.g. flight cancellations or borders closing. But due to the preparations involved, prepayments made with the service providers and this being a small group tour, there will otherwise be no refunds issued. With your credits, you are welcome to transfer the trip to another person who is interested. However, if you cancel your trip more than 40 days prior to the departure, you’re eligible for a full refund. If you are entitled to a refund. Please allow us 7 to 10 working to process your request.
