Our wonderful daughter, Nielsine, turned 2 days ago. And we celebrated the endless happiness and joy she has brought into our lives and continues to give us every single day.
The day was spent entirely in her spirit in a relaxed, unpretentious and happy manner which she could enjoy through and through.
Playing everything within her normal routine .
I dressed her in her birthday dress, which, in my own opinion – without false modesty – I must say is the cutest I have made for her so far.
The headband was made from my favorite ruffled flower tutorial. I made a big flower and sewed in a smaller one on top of it.
I have had this beautiful VLISCO fabric for quite a while, waiting for the perfect occasion. And this was it! I had a vision of fitting the dress with huge sleeves matching a large head band, and I am proud that it turned out just as I had dreamt of.
After a photoshoot in our garden, she was the natural centre of attention at her birthday party, for which we had invited all her stuffed animal friends. She loved it !
And the birthday girl did a perfect job of blowing out her first candle – with a little help from Mama
It was a really laid-back celebration with only close family and the household staff participating in singing Happy Birthday and having a slice of the yummy home made cake by my lovely friend Camilla (thank you) .
Nielsine enjoyed every minute of it and showed it with her most winning smile and eager clapping of hands.
Its been 2 months since I locked her hair and it is going very well. I will do an update next week.
Happy birthday LOVE
xx
