The annual Safaricom Jazz festival is on for the fifth time, and music is in the air with great concerts every night culminating in the Sunday open air feast at the Kasarani Training Grounds with free transport from KICC all day long. So come and join the fun and enjoy some top class international and local entertainment including the acclaimed American jazz trio BWB. Call 1511 via your Safaricom line for tickets at only 2000 Bob and 500 for students.
An afternoon jazz festival is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with family and friends while enjoying great music and fresh air. Dress up to look your best in comfortable outfits and put on your dancing shoes. Think of it as a leisurely picnic experience and bring along enough stuff to allow you to settle down in comfort to relax and grove to the performances of BWB joined by a range of amazing artists while savouring your choice of food, drinks and snacks – which you can bring along sealed for your convenience – or sample the tasty delights of the on-site vendors.
Your phone is of course a must, and in order not to miss the great photo opportunities, do carry a fully charged power bank and load those bundles so you can snap away.
All proceeds from the event will go towards supporting Ghetto Classics, a non-profit programme that teaches music skills to youth from under-priviledged backgrounds in Nairobi and Mombasa. Since its launch five years ago the Safaricom Jazz Festival has raised over KES 37 million from proceeds of the event which have been used to transform the lives of over 1400 boys and girls through music, education and more. And I am giving away tickest on my instgram so stay tuned!
