I love challenges which I find contribute a lot to enriching my life and drive me forward towards higher goals and accomplishments. I find that it is important always to engage yourself in activities which can nurture you physically as well as intellectually and spiritually, including healthy eating, physical exercise, reading, artistic creativity, acquiring new skills and studying areas where you still have a lot to learn.

Lately, I have come to realize that my life is being enriched not only by my achievements but simply by taking up the challenges leading to such achievement. One of my most recent challenges, and indeed a major one, is to become fluent in French, and I must confess that it is taking a central part in my life, so that I am really committed to achieve this goal.
When I was growing up, I learned how much the French influenced the world of fashion, I used to dream about getting married and living in Paris the city of love and the fashion capital of the world! This would certainly have been a dream come true, but my life took a different direction and I am very happy with how it is treating me. But it wasn’t until I visited France a few years ago that my love for the language was ignited. So having taken up a serious study of French the past couple of months has added an extra shimmer to my life, which I love. So my message to you today is to try to challenge yourself one way or the other; learn a new language, take a social media class, go to a conference, travel or even mentor someone.
And on that note, here is an idea, you might wish to consider:
I just received an email from my friends at the US Embassy in Nairobi calling for ideas from inter alia Kenya for the Global Innovation Competition 2016. The deadline is 4th October, so time is running out fast, but this is indeed an important challenge which should not be missed. The themes for the competition support both the goals of the Open Government Partnership and the Sustainable Development Goals, which this year will replace the MDGs as the marker for global progress on development issues. The Global Innovation Competition is key part of Making All Voices Count’s broader approach to finding and funding innovations that improve citizen-state relations. My outfit today is inspired by all things I am loving lately, Loose fit, bold lips and sunglasses…. my idea of a chic fashion forward ensemble.
Have a beautiful weekend !
