Maya Ubud Resort and Spa was my third stop during my most recent trip to Bali – the island of my dreams. Ubud, is my favorite location in Bali, it is the cultural heart of Bali- a peaceful wild jungle with scenic mountains and rivers and my stay at Maya Ubud gave me the perfect bali vibe. I felt at home immediately I walked in.
After a warm welcome we were driven through the lush gardens to our Balinese style villa with a stunning view of the jungle around us and a gently flowing stream passing by our pool. The succession of multiple infinity pools hanging over the edges of the lush green Ubud jungle turned me into a mermaid who was hard to drive me out of the water. I also loved the jungle ambiance around our villa and especially our little stream; and exploring it on foot was like a dream.
But the highlight of my stay at Maya Ubud was undoubtedly tub time! the flower bath which was prepared especially for me at the awesome spa which also offers massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, body scrubs, infrared sauna etc. It was pure luxury soaking in perfectly tempered water infused with special salts and surrounded by fragrant frangipani flowers watching the bubbling stream below. I could have stayed there with my cool drink much longer.
But there was so much more to do. The resort offers a wide range of activities, most of which are free, has its own golf course, a beautiful tennis court surrounded by greenery, a dedicated yoga area and of course a first class gym with all facilities and also offers bicycle rides and nature walks in the jungle,
This is certainly not a resort to visit in a rush – like I did! So all in all I would suggest a stay of at least five days to pamper your body and soul and savor the true vibe of Maya Ubud. in between your stay, do take their free shuttle to the nearby Ubud centre, and explore the city centre.
