I have said this before and I will say this again, the beach is one of my favorite places on earth, Luckily, I get to spend a lot of time in my second home on the Kenyan coast, where I get to experiment with various beach styles. I find that a cover-up is an amazing way to elevate the look of a basic swimsuit, which might be in the forefront of your thoughts especially when you spend time on more crowded beaches or alongside a public pool.

Having spent years in this reserved community I have come to appreciate the importance of a cover-up for my own comfort as well as a way to show respect for the local dress code. After having tried out many different options including maxi dresses, sheer dresses, and caftans, I think I have found my go-to cover-up; a shirtdress with front buttons is a perfect outfit on a warm day easy to put on and take off. It allows me to show my legs, when I feel like it, as well as covering them up by buttoning it all the way down. I can open up the front as much as I feel comfortable and I can slip it off one shoulder for an off shoulder effect, Offering me various styling options that I do not appreciate with other pieces.
