I recently joined Sarahah to see what the buzz was all about. The app allows users to post their candid comments about me incognito, and I was surprised to discover that many people expressed their surprise over how sweet and kind I come across when they finally meet me in person – obviously implying that they assumed that I was a different kind of person, which I actually don’t think I am. The response was overwhelming and even though this app has been exploited by some, to me the comments are a valuable reminder of how important it is to show my true self as openly as I can in my social media postings to relate more closely to my readers and friends online.
I love this bat sleeved dress. It’s a fun piece for easy cocktails, girl time and basically any festivities that require you to be dressy but still fairly modest. I love wearing a loose fitting dress to a party; it means that I can eat without busting seams or having to ‘suck it in all night’ lol. This dress has an unexpected ankara print patch pocket that drew me to it, and the fabric has a bats pattern and bat sleeves – a really cool and fun twist. Although I find bats to be a bit scary, especially if they come too close, this dress with its explicit prints and its open wing-like sleeves put me in a good mood. Looking back at the photos today, I must say that I love the overall look and find that my make-up game is getting better and better over time. Don’t you agree?
I am travelling again this Thursday morning, to a fantastic fashion event. I get so excited just thinking about it, yet so nervous about what to wear! I can’t wait to share more, so do follow me on Instagram over the coming days to find out where I am off to.
