Tribal Chic, which took place last Saturday 3rd December at the beautiful Tribe Hotel, is a fashion show where some of Kenya’s top designers showcase their latest creations. It is one of my favorite events in the Kenyan fashion calendar. The show, unlike many others, is fast paced, pumped and doesn’t last for more than a couple of hours; the designers showcasing are vibrant, experimental and are really pushing the envelope when it comes to the local fashion scene.
I went in a velvet pant suit and added a head wrap to give it some edge. I’ve recently been drawn to headscarves since I trimmed my hair. I find them easier to wear as they are not as bulky as they used to be a few months ago. Please check out more looks from other guests at the show on styleyetu.
Literally up until the last hour to the show, I was torn between two different outfits, but this is essentially what I ended up wearing, and in retrospect, I am very pleased with my choice. I was motivated not only by the fact that velvet is rapidly developing into a hot trend, but also that the dress, which was my other option, would be perfect for the very hot country I shall be visiting next week.
Yes my friends, with the year almost coming to an end I am so excited because this weekend I am heading out for an exciting fun filled trip with one of my favourite brands! Keep it here for more details….
