Balancing my private life with a career set for the big city was a dream I never thought I would accomplish. I wondered, could I have a thriving career in fashion and entertainment while living in a small resort town on the Kenyan coast? I’ve worked tirelessly hard to make this happen, and as we are moving into February I feel that this dream is becoming a reality. I work for a newspaper and magazines that give me as much flexibility as I need, and I have great support from my amazing team at StyleYetu. I am now able to work full time from the comfort of my home on the coast with only short occasional trips to Nairobi when required. With my daughter away at school most of the day I have plenty of undisturbed time to devote to work.
I really love to spend this much time here at home and weekends are my favorite. Whenever I need a break away from work I am able to go to the beach or have lunch with my daughter and her friends. Call me lazy, but I live in maxi dresses here; it’s an effortless way to dress. The sleeves on this number add a little extra somethin’ somethin’ that I love. This dress is a great choice for just about any condition under the sun. Save for that one time when I wore it at the top of the Burj Khalfa in Dubai. It’s cold up there guys, I was freezing! watch here
