I just got back to Kenya from a fun and exciting trip to France. I spent a week in Cannes and a few days in Paris. It was a trip bursting with opportunities and new friendships, not forgetting the many movies I watched – and my walk on the red carpet. More about this later.
Today I sit at my computer bone-tired trying to catch up on work, finally home from a 30 hour journey – yes, a small miscommunication between my travel agent and the airline resulted in me spending 10 long hours at an unforeseen layover in the Dubai airport!
But now back to Cannes, which is a very special place during the annual film festival when you can bump into movie stars and other celebrities everywhere and not only inside the Festival Palace. And of course countless paparazzi are roaming the streets of this star-studded city day and night looking for their prey.
On one evening as I was walking from the movie premiere of the Nigerian-Ghanaian co-production Potato Pohtato (I wrote about it here) to my taxi, I was approached by one of these photographers, a lovely lady, and we ended up doing an impromptu photo shoot in front of the Gucci store. I love how she captured these images and made the best of this unplanned opportunity, and I hope you do as well. It’s really quite amazing how a random encounter in the street can work out so well. Please enjoy the pictures.
I will slowly start editing my Cannes Vlog and can’t wait to share it as soon as possible.
