The Nairobi Fashion High Tea always tops the list of local fashion events. A high profile event where the crème de la crème of the fashion and entertainment industry gather for an afternoon of fashion and fun for a charitable cause at the Zen Garden in Nairobi. This year marked the 6th edition, and top fashion designers made a serious effort to highlight their best work and to make a serious promotion for the local fashion industry, as this event marks a prime opportunity for them to showcase and sell their fashion craft. Here is a rundown of my look

Outfit
Inspired by the cape trend and our very own Lupita Nyongo’s famous red cape dress at the Oscars 2014, I gave it my own twist and went for a jumpsuit with cape sleeves. I tend to wear statement outfits like this for a one-off event, but my plan is to take out the sleeves and keep this as a casual jumpsuit that I can style differently for every-day wear. I had a creative vision and I approached my trusted seamstress who executed it as I desired.
Accessories
Currently loving fabric chokers. I bet you will see many of these during the coming weeks. I purposely did not wear earrings as I found it a bit overwhelming paired with the choker and hair piece. The belt and my favourite clutch seemed to work so well together.
Makeup
Phoina kept my makeup soft and natural since it was a day time event. I tend to like my makeup light during the day and heavier at night
Hair
I wrapped my hair in a loc updo. This is, my go-to style when I am looking for a simple and chic hairstyle. Speaking of loc styles, I will share my favourite loc styles with you in a post this week
I had a great evening with loads of lovely friends and I am already looking forward to the 2017 Fashion High Tea! I also got to work with a young and talented photographer Lyra to bring you these pictures.
